Peer Review Process

The Journal of Advanced Nursing and Health Systems Innovation (JANHSI) follows a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, integrity, and credibility of all published works. In this process, both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review period.

1. Initial Screening

  • All submissions are initially assessed by the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board.

  • Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s scope, quality standards, or ethical policies may be rejected at this stage (desk rejection).

  • Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to appropriate expert reviewers.

2. Reviewer Selection

  • Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts in the relevant field.

  • Reviewers are selected based on their subject matter expertise, research experience, and absence of any conflicts of interest.

3. Review Criteria

Reviewers assess manuscripts based on the following criteria:

  • Originality and novelty of the research

  • Scientific and methodological rigor

  • Clarity, coherence, and organization of the manuscript

  • Relevance and contribution to nursing and health systems innovation

  • Ethical compliance in research conduct and reporting

4. Reviewer Recommendations

After evaluation, reviewers will provide one of the following recommendations:

  • Accept as is

  • Minor revision – Requires small adjustments before acceptance

  • Major revision – Requires significant changes and resubmission

  • Reject – Does not meet the journal’s scientific or ethical standards

5. Editorial Decision

  • The final decision (accept, revise, or reject) is made by the Editor-in-Chief, based on the reviewers’ comments and the journal’s editorial policies.

  • Constructive feedback is provided to authors, even if the manuscript is not accepted.

6. Revision and Resubmission

  • Authors are expected to submit their revised manuscripts within the specified revision deadline.

  • Revised versions may be sent back to the original reviewers for further evaluation.

7. Final Acceptance and Publication

  • Once a manuscript meets all academic and editorial requirements, it will be formally accepted.

  • Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, proofreading, and formatting before publication on the journal's website.

8. Confidentiality and Ethics

  • All manuscripts under review are treated as confidential documents.

  • Reviewers must not use or disclose information from the manuscripts for personal or professional advantage.

  • JANHSI strictly adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines to ensure the highest ethical standards in the review process.
