Open Access Policy
As a journal dedicated to advancing global clinical outcomes, Oncology Network for Comprehensive Outcomes (ONCO) has established an Open Access policy to remove barriers for researchers, clinicians, and policymakers in accessing critical cancer research.
1. Gold Open Access Model
ONCO adopts the Gold Open Access model. Immediately upon publication:
-
Free Access: All articles, data, and figures are freely accessible to anyone, anywhere, without subscription fees.
-
High Visibility: Articles are published online and indexed by global search engines and databases (e.g., Google Scholar, DOAJ), enhancing discoverability and citation potential.
2. Licensing
All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license, which permits:
-
Sharing: Copying and redistributing the material in any medium or format.
-
Adaptation: Remixing, transforming, and building upon the material for any purpose, including commercial use.
-
Attribution: Users must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made.
3. Copyright
In contrast to traditional publishing models:
-
Authors Retain Copyright: Authors retain full copyright of their work without restriction.
-
Publication Rights: Authors grant the journal the right of first publication and acknowledge ONCO as the original publisher.
4. Self-Archiving and Repositories
ONCO encourages wide dissemination of published work. Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit the published version of their articles (Version of Record) in:
-
Institutional repositories (universities or hospitals).
-
Personal websites or academic profiles (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu).
-
Subject-based repositories, such as PubMed Central for medical research.
5. Digital Preservation
To ensure long-term accessibility of published content, ONCO collaborates with permanent digital archiving services (such as CLOCKSS, LOCKSS, or Portico) to preserve all article files and metadata, even in the event that the journal ceases publication.
