Author Guidelines
- Types of Manuscripts Accepted
The International Health Care and Clinical Journal (IHCCJ) welcomes high-quality manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of health sciences and clinical practice. The journal accepts the following manuscript categories:
- Original Research Articles
- Review Articles
- Case Reports
- Conceptual Papers
- Scholarly Opinion Articles
- Short Communications
Submitted manuscripts must fall within the aims and scope of the journal and demonstrate scientific originality, methodological rigor, and relevance to healthcare and clinical sciences.
- Language Requirements
Manuscripts may be submitted in either:
- English (preferred), written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct academic English; or
- Indonesian, using proper and formal Indonesian language.
Authors whose first language is not English are strongly encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally edited before submission. Authors are solely responsible for the linguistic accuracy of their manuscripts.
- Publication Ethics and Originality
IHCCJ adheres to the principles of publication ethics established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Authors must ensure that:
- The manuscript is original and has not been previously published, either in whole or in part.
- The manuscript is not under consideration by another journal at the time of submission.
- All sources of information, including text, tables, figures, and data, are appropriately cited.
- Necessary ethical approval has been obtained for studies involving human participants or animals.
- Written informed consent has been obtained where applicable.
- All potential conflicts of interest are fully disclosed.
- Sources of research funding are clearly acknowledged.
All submissions undergo plagiarism screening using similarity detection software. Manuscripts with an overall similarity index exceeding 20% (excluding references, quotations, and commonly used methodological descriptions) may be returned to the authors or rejected.
- Manuscript Preparation
Title
The manuscript title should:
- Be concise, informative, and accurately reflect the content of the study.
- Contain no more than 16 words for Indonesian manuscripts or 12 words for English manuscripts.
- Avoid abbreviations whenever possible.
Author Information
Provide the following information for each author:
- Full name (without academic degrees or professional titles)
- Institutional affiliation
- ORCID iD (recommended)
- Email address
- Corresponding author's contact information
Abstract
The abstract should:
- Consist of 150–250 words
- Be written as a single paragraph
- Clearly describe:
- Background
- Objective
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusion
Provide 3–5 keywords immediately after the abstract using terms that facilitate indexing and retrieval.
- Manuscript Structure
Original Research Articles should generally be organized as follows:
Introduction
Present the background of the study, identify the research gap, explain the significance of the study, review relevant literature, and clearly state the research objectives.
Methods
Describe the study design, setting, participants, sampling technique, inclusion and exclusion criteria, data collection procedures, instruments, statistical analyses, and ethical considerations in sufficient detail to allow replication.
Results
Present the findings logically and objectively using text, tables, and figures where appropriate. Do not duplicate the same information in multiple formats.
Discussion
Interpret the findings in relation to existing literature, explain their scientific and clinical significance, discuss strengths and limitations, and provide recommendations for future research.
Conclusion
Summarize the principal findings without repeating the discussion. Clearly state the implications of the study.
Acknowledgements (Optional)
Recognize individuals, institutions, or funding agencies that contributed to the research but do not qualify for authorship.
Funding Statement
Provide complete information regarding research funding. If no funding was received, state:
The authors received no specific funding for this work.
Conflict of Interest
Authors must declare any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest.
If none exist, state:
The authors declare no conflict of interest.
Author Contributions
Authors are encouraged to specify individual contributions.
- References
References should comply with the following requirements:
- Original Research Articles should include at least 20 references.
- At least 80% of references should be derived from peer-reviewed journal articles published within the last 10 years.
- References should primarily come from reputable international scientific journals.
- All citations and references must conform to the APA Style (7th edition).
- The use of reference management software such as Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero is strongly recommended.
- Tables and Figures
Tables and figures should:
- Be cited sequentially within the text.
- Be placed as close as possible to their first citation.
- Include clear and descriptive captions.
- Be submitted in editable format whenever possible.
- Have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi for all figures.
- Include appropriate source acknowledgements when reproduced or adapted from other publications.
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted materials.
- Manuscript Formatting
Manuscripts should conform to the following formatting requirements:
- File format: Microsoft Word (.docx)
- Font: Times New Roman
- Font size: 12 pt
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Margins: 3 cm on all sides
- Page size: A4
- Manuscript length: 4,000–8,000 words (excluding references, tables, and appendices)
- Peer Review Process
IHCCJ employs a double-blind peer review system to ensure an objective and impartial evaluation process.
Each manuscript will undergo:
- Initial editorial screening for scope, quality, formatting, and ethical compliance.
- Similarity checking using plagiarism detection software.
- Review by at least two independent expert reviewers.
- Editorial assessment based on reviewers' recommendations.
The final decision rests solely with the Editor-in-Chief.
Possible editorial decisions include:
- Accept
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Reject
- Publication Fees
IHCCJ is committed to promoting equitable access to scientific publishing.
Article Processing Charge (APC): IDR 350,000 (approximately USD 25, subject to the prevailing exchange rate).

Authors retain the copyright of their published works.
All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, adaptation, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.
IHCCJ is an open-access journal, ensuring immediate and free access to all published content without subscription barriers.
